The Fisher Foundation awards grants to nonprofit organizations located in, and/or serving the residents of, the Greater Hartford area - Andover, Avon, Bloomfield, Bolton, Canton, East Hartford, East Granby, East Windsor, Ellington, Enfield, Farmington, Glastonbury, Granby, Hartford, Hebron, Manchester, Marlborough, Newington, Rocky Hill, Simsbury, Somers, South Windsor, Suffield, Tolland, Vernon, West Hartford, Wethersfield, Windsor, and Windsor Locks.
The Foundation awards grants to programs that benefit education, health and human services, housing, community needs, and arts and culture.
The majority of grants are single year awards. Multi-year grants are only considered in exceptional cases. An applicant cannot apply more than once within a twelve
month period and, in general, applicants will be awarded funds no
more than three consecutive years.
Foundation policies do not allow funding of
- Organizations
which are not tax-exempt under IRS Code section 501(c)(3)
- Organizations
which have the IRS private foundation designation
- Individuals
- Performances,
conferences, retreats, one-time events, trips
- Annual
campaigns
The foundation requires that grantees submit a Final Report describing the use of the funds.
